Saturday morning August 21st
We met at the Depot Restaurant for a ride to Fairfield Bay's Biks, Boats, Blues BBQ.
Bob Richards, Mike Boyd, Landus Dutton, Randal and Debbie Phillips, Hall and Cathy Smith a
along with guest riders Dave and Michele Parkman attended the ride.
We rode to Marshall, AR and stopped at the Dogwood Cafe for breakfast.
An hour later we finally got our food. Next time we'll likely stop somewhere else.
The forcast was partly cloudy, but it was overcast and cool all the way to Fairfield Bay.
By
mid afternoon it broke up and became sunny and warm until about 5 pm. when it clouded up
again.
Admission to the event was a bit expensive at $15.00 for a single rider and $25.00 for two
up.
We were nice, paid up and went in. During the day they had a bike show, bike games and
poker run. There wasn't much going on there so we went on the poker run. It ran over to
Greers
Ferry Lake and back around to Fairfield Bay; about a 60 mile run. Along the way, Mike Boyd
was tempted to traded his bike in on a new Venture but the dealer backed out. Later Mike
almost
missed a sharp curve causing, thankfully he made it. WHEW!!!!
At the end of the poker run, Landus had Low Hand and won $25.00.
Landus had to leave after that to head home for dinner with wife and friends in Eureka
Springs, AR
everyone else stayed to see the outcome of the bike show and hear the band play before
heading back.
