Jim and his wife Ann joined Chapter 298 as charter members in 2003. He was loved and respected by all of us.
Jim was a retired from the Navy along with being a Star Vet and Tin Star. He and Ann recently moved from Henderson, Arkansas to Branson, Missouri although he still worked at Baxter Labs in Mountain Home, Arkansas and rode back and forth between home and work.
Jim has held office in our chapter as Treasurer and Veteran Representative. He was our only Ironbutt rider after making several trips to California and back on his beloved 650 V-Star to see family and friends. He loved to ride and we loved riding with him.
Jim was riding home on the morning of Friday, July 25th when a car pulled in front of him. He was transported to St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Missouri where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, July 26th.
There are no words to express how much Jim will be missed.
He will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace Jim.
We love you!

I'm Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks undone must stay that way
I found that peace at close of day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I've savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me
God wanted me now:
He's set me free.
