Monte Ne, Arkansas

Landus Dutton called and was inquiring if anyone
would be interested in riding over to Rogers, AR
and checking out Monte Ne.

It was a pleasant Sunday Morning for the first part
of January so we bundled up and met at the
Tourist Information Center at the edge of town.

Jim Barnes, Nancy Hollenberg, Dennis Goodnight,
David and Debbie Conner, Mike and Bobbie Reddell,
Landus Dutton, Gary Bollwine along with Alex and
Vicki Billings departed around 10:00 A.M. and
rendezvoused with our chapter mascot
(Biker Billy Phelps) in Eureka Springs.

We attempted to have lunch at Bubba's BBQ but it
was closed so we ventured on to Rogers and ate at
Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que.
From there we followed Biker Billy to Monte Ne to
check out the sites from the once prominent Amphitheater
and other buildings exposed from Beaver Lake levels
dropping to a record low. We departed Monte Ne,
stopping at Marble and Alpena before returning home.
