Meeting at the White Oak Station located at the junction of Hwy 7 South and Hwy 206 at 8 a.m. our chapter formed a small group ready to head south along Highway 7 to Paris, Arkansas where we planned to meet with Star Chapter 250 from Fayetteville and Star Chapter 382 from Greers Ferry Lake along with an area coordinator from Jonesboro/Paragould. The weather was a bit overcast and cool when we left but still a nice day for a ride.
We stopped about half way between Harrison and Russellville at a rest stop nestled among the trees along the top of the Boston Mountions. Everyone took some time to stretch their legs a bit while admiring the view.

While in Dover we made another stop at the Suzuki dealership so that Mike could look for a part. The folks at Suzuki really enjoyed all of us pulling up on our Yamaha's and a trike.

After leaving Dover we hightailed it on to Paris where we were to meet the other chapters at The Grapevine Restaurant.
The other chapters were already there when we arrived. Everyone took a few minutes to meet each other before heading into the restaurant.

The Grapevine Restaurant made us feel very welcome. They even printed a special menu just for us.

We all settled into our seats and placed our orders. Vicki thanked everyone for attending and asked us to all introduce ourselves and tell what chapter we were with. Altogether we had 28 people on 21 bikes in attendence.

After eating we thanked our host at The Grapevine Restaurant. Chapter 250 headed back to Fayetteville for another commitment while the rest of us headed upward to top of the highest mountain in Arkansas, Mt. Magazine. Arriving at the top we stopped at the Visitor Center for a bit where could hear the clouds rumbling as if it might rain at any time.
We rode on around the top of the mountain, through the parking lot of the lodge located there and stopped at a point where hang-gliders take the big leap making our way to the edge to look off. It was a bit hazy but the view was still breathtaking.

Leaving Mt. Magazine we split up with Chapter 382 and Rob from Jonesboro heading off the other side of the mounetin towards Little Rock while our chapter headed back down the mountain the way we had come up it.
We rode up to Hwy 23 and the Pig Trail stopping at Turner Bend for a rest. While we were at Turner Bend, there was an older gentleman checking out all the bikes as they stopped. We thought he was just hanging out at the store when much to everyone's surprise he hopped onto his sport bike and zoomed off. WOW!!

We made another stop in Kingston on the way home so that Cathy could get a little petro in her trike. None of us realized that Kingston no longer sells gas. As we were wondering what we would do and how far Cathy would make it on the gas she had left when Hal's sister and brother-in-law just happened to drive up. Hal's brother-in-law made a quick trip home and came back with some gas to save the day.

Our last stop was at the lookoff at the top of Gaither Mountain. When we stopped we were surprised to find that we had gained one bike and rider. Charlie was waiting at Compton and joined us as we drove by.
We were killing time and talking about our ride when David and Debbie just happened to be driving by in their "cage" and stopped too. You never know who you'll run into at the lookoff.

It had been a long day and we just missed being rained on but with good friends to ride with and new ones that we met at Paris, it couldn't have been much better.
