May 30th 2009
The Arkansas 2nd Annual State picnic was held on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at
Bull Shoals - White River State Park.
Chapter 298 met at the Depot Restaurant in Harrison at 9:00 a.m. with a
stop at the Yellville White Oak Station to pick up additional members.
We had a great turnout with members from all four Arkansas Chapters
attending. Proceeds from the picnic were donated to the Star Family
Foundation in memory of Jim Barnes and Rick Rickenbacker.
After the picnic everyone headed home with members of Chapter 298
riding up Highway 5 to Gainsville, MO then across Highway 160 to
Highway 125 where we crossed the lake on the ferry at Peel, AR.
(The Peel Ferry is the last remaining ferry in Arkansas)
Everyone that attended seemed to have a great time.
