September 25, 2005
Sunday, September 25th was a cool rainy morning in northern Arkansas
when we gathered at the Tourist Information Center north of town. We
had hopes of riding to the Fayetteville
VA Medical Center in Fayetteville,
Arkansas but due to the rain we drove off in our cages instead.
We had some time to kill before our 2:00 p.m. appointment at the hospital
so we stopped for lunch then drove over to Billy's house and rescued him
from a hard day of housework and took him with us.
Upon arriving at the hospital, we unloaded the goodie bags and hats we had
put together for the patients and waited for our guide Ron Evans to arrive.
Ron rode up on his Yamaha V-Star 1100 Classic. After visiting for a few
minutes, he lead us inside the hospital where we were allowed to visit with
the patients and pass out the goodie bags and hats.
We all had a great time visiting with the patients and hope the hats
and items in our goodie bags helped to brighten their day.
We'll be planning more trips to the Fayetteville VA Medical Center in the future.
